Jinguashi

Jinguashi means 'gold rock' and was a gold mining town from the 1890s to the 1970s. The riotous days of the Home of Gold can now still be experienced at the Gold Museum, which houses an ecological pavilion, a chalet specially built for a visiting Japanese crown prince, remnants of a shinto shrine, the No.5 Tunnel, and dormitories from the Japanese period.
