Presidential Office Building

  • Area :Taipei

This renaissance-style building has been the highest seat of government in Taiwan for over a century, first as the office of the governor general's office during the Japanese colonial period, and after 1949 as Taiwan's 'White House'. The building is five storeys high, with a middle section that rises 12 levels. The plaza in front of the building is home to National Day celebrations, performances, and sometimes demonstrations. The decorated archways and colorful illuminations make the plaza worth a visit at night.
