Timeless Journey – Yuli Slow City: A Slow Travel through the East Longitudinal Valley
An additional NT$750 per person will be charged if a foreign-language guide is required.
Step into the leisurely pace of the Hualien Rift Valley, beginning with a stroll along the banks of Baibao Creek, where you can pick jade. Feel the rhythm of nature along the clear stream and pebble beaches, allowing your journey to gently unfold between the mountains and the sea. After enjoying a replenishing lunch in a charming small town, delve deeper into Fenglin Township to experience the unique tapestry woven from Japanese colonial history, Hakka culture, and local life. The afternoon itinerary offers two choices: you can opt for the "Small Town Story" route, visiting century-old tobacco barns, exploring a Japanese shrine, and browsing specialty shops, allowing you to understand the town's past and present through its architecture and streetscapes; or choose "Songluo Wild Shop" to handcraft a pen with warmth, transforming your travel memories into a take-home souvenir. Finally, head to Mata'an Wetland for a tribal DIY experience, such as making mochi or enjoying a stone hotpot, to get closer to indigenous culture and wetland ecology, leaving a lingering aftertaste of ancient and modern times for this one-day slow journey through the valley.
