Tefuye Historic Trail Walking Tour (One-Day Trip)

Journey deep into the Alishan mountains, embarking on a day trip of light hiking along the "Tefuye Ancient Trail," which combines both natural beauty and cultural heritage. The ancient trail, formerly known as Shuishan Ancient Trail, was an early hunting path and thoroughfare for the Tsou people. During the Japanese colonial period, it was extended into the "Shuishan Line" railway for timber transport. Tracing its path feels like traversing between forest and history, sensing the marks of the mountain's age. The itinerary starts from Taichung, arranging a panoramic view from Wanggao Tea Garden, a forest stroll on the Tefuye Trail, exploring the majestic presence of the Lulin Sacred Tree, and visiting Shuili Erping to experience the charm of a mountain town and riverside scenery. The entire trip includes Taiwan Tour Bus transportation and Chinese guided commentary, with a comfortable pace and clear stop times, making it suitable for travelers who want to experience the essence of Central Taiwan's mountain forests in one day without the burden of transportation.
**Tefuye Ancient Trail:** Formerly known as Shuishan Ancient Trail, it was originally an early hunting path for the Tsou people, also used for intermarriage and visiting relatives. During the Japanese colonial period, the latter part of the ancient trail was converted into the "Shuishan Line" railway for timber transport. There are two entrances: one from Zizhong, located at the border of Alishan Township and Xinyi Township, and the other from the Tefuye Tribe in Alishan.

1.Meeting times will be confirmed one day prior to departure.
2.Departure: Daily (except during Lunar New Year and national consecutive holidays).
3.The duration of each sightseeing stop is for reference only. In case of traffic congestion,
the company reserves the right to adjust the schedule or change the visiting order as
necessary.
4.The tour mainly uses 9-seater vehicles. Vehicle type will be arranged based on the final
number of participants.
5.Unused items included in the tour package are non-refundable.
6.If meals are included, please inform us of any vegetarian requirements upon booking.
7.In case of inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances, the company reserves the
right to cancel or modify the itinerary.
8.If the tour is canceled due to natural disasters such as typhoons, earthquakes, or heavy rain,
the company reserves the right to postpone departure or offer a full refund.
9.Participants are advised to wear light, comfortable clothing and shoes,and bring appropriate
warm layers for cooler temperatures.
10.Please do not bring pets on the tour in order to maintain public hygiene and prevent the
spread of infectious diseases.
(Pets are not allowed in vehicles, hotels, or restaurants. Guide dogs are exempted.)
11.Please bring a light raincoat and water bottle, sun hat or umbrella, warm jacket (for cool
air-conditioning on the bus or lower temperatures in mountain and coastal areas), camera,
batteries, charger, and personal medication (such as motion sickness or cold medicine).
