Hongmao Castle

Officially called Fort San Domingo but commonly known as Hongmao (red hair/foreign) Castle or Red Castle, this historical site has been preserved carefully from the 17th century onward, when the Spanish and Dutch colonized parts of Taiwan and stands as testimony to those times. Its long boardwalk overlooking the fishing town of Tamsui and the sea is a great place to watch the sunset.
