Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology

  • Area :New Taipei City

Wander along the bank of the Tamsui River, come from the right bank to the left, taking in the 1000-year-old culture of the river mouth along the way. Bali was the starting point of culture in north Taiwan. 5,000 years ago in the Neolithic Period, the people of Tapenkeng Culture lived at the foot of Guanyin Mountain. From that time, human footprints have never disappeared from the area. The Shihsanhang people of 1,000 years ago engaged in frequent exchange with people from Taiwan and outside, laying the foundation for Bali’s diverse culture,

Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology, New Taipei City, an important base for promotion of archaeology in north Taiwan and the guardian of archaeological heritage in New Taipei City, will continue, guided by the spirit of cultural heritage preservation and activization, to bring cultural heritage closer to daily life so that, when visiting the museum, people naturally learn the local cultural stories of New Taipei City and Taiwan.

I hope Shihsanhang colleagues, local residents and supporters of Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology can work together to introduce the creative power of youth and combine it with the concept of regional revitalization to promote the accumulation and promotion of local knowledge. Shihsanhang Museum of Archaeology can then become a model in Taiwan for archaeological heritage promotion, linking to and speaking out to the world.
