Chaotian Temple

Chaotian Temple in Beigang Township is the oldest and the most flourishing temple among the three hundred Mazu Temples in Taiwan. Beside religious prayer, this temple is a master piece of arts. The dragon pillars, incense burners, stone lions, wood carvings, and mural paintings are marvelous. On the 15th day of the lunar new year, a lantern competition is held, a local festival not to be missed!
