National Taichung Theater

Designed by award-winning Japanese architect Toyo Ito, the eye-catchingly modern National Taichung Theater, as it's also called, is the world's first theater to be constructed entirely without beams or columns, relying on 58 curved wall units instead. This 'sound cave' offers excellent acoustics, while the outdoor stages and plazas feature music, drama, leisure, and cultural events. This new landmark in Taichung is definitely worth a visit.
